Seminar on Industrial Policy

A seminar on industrial policy was held on May 6-8, 2006 by VCCI, Ministry of Industry (MOI) and Japanese counterparts: Association of Overseas Technical Service (AOTS) and Ministry Economic, Trade and Industry (METI).

 

Speaking at the seminar, MOI representative said that Vietnam has learned Japanese experiences presented at Vietnam Development Forum in June 2005 and successfully promoted the industrial production bringing benefit to both sides. Vietnamese government and businesses can now maintain the growth and expansion of the industrial sector.

 

At the seminar, Japanese experts shared with Vietnamese partners Japanese policy and approach to industrial development. While Vietnamese participants presented the overview of Vietnamese industrial policy, the development in the past five year and the next five-year plan. Japanese experts also presented on industrial policies of other developing countries, government approaches to local industries and the role of organisations in the development of various industries, especially, automobile, motorbike and parts.
