Vietnam's Largest Hotel Website Launched

Vietnam E-Commerce Development Joint Stock Company has launched the country's largest hotel website at www.hotels84.com to promote the image of hotels nationwide and help users make on-line reservations.

 

The Hanoi-based company has co-operated with provincial tourism agencies, travel firms and hotels to create the website to serve the nation's tourism industry, an official of the company said.

 

Visitors to Vietnam now can more easily search for hotels in any city by only clicking on the website.

 

Last year, Nam Phuong Travel and Worldhotel-Link jointly launched three new Internet sites for marketing online room reservations at http://www.hue-hotel.com; http://www.dannang-hotel.com and http://www.hoian-hotel.com to help visitors to the central Vietnam cities of Hue, Danang and Hoi An easily order rooms in advance.

 

Vietnam has nearly 6,000 accommodation venues with 130,000 rooms and 2,600 one-to five-star hotels including around 20 five-star, 48 four-star and 116 three-star. The country also boats over 400 international and 10,000 domestic travel firms.

 

However, only 64 per cent of tourism companies and 71.8 per cent of hotels in Vietnam are now making advantage of internet to market their tourism activities and trademarks, revealing a startling lack of application of information and communication technology solutions in the local tourism.
