Exhibition on Taiwanese Machine Catalogues Opens
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has recently cooperated with an engineering technology association of Taiwan to organise an exhibition to display Taiwanese mechanical machine catalogues in Hanoi.
Through the exhibition, the Taiwanese association wanted to help Vietnamese enterprises to have an overview on the Taiwanese mechanical engineering industry and to have necessary information about their expected products. This information is believed to help improve production efficiency and sharpen export competitiveness.
In 2005, Vietnam spent some US$450 million on importing Taiwanese machines, a 15 per cent on-year increase. Major imports are machine tools, power-looms, plastic machines, packaging machines, wood processing machines and spare parts. Vietnam has become the fifth largest importer of Taiwanese mechanical machines after China, the United States, Japan and Thailand.
