International Tourism Day 2006 celebrated

Vietnam Administration of Tourism (VAT) announced that on the occasion of International Tourism Day (September 27), VAT had asked its organizations nation-wide to respond actively the message of the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization on the topic “Tourism – an important instrument to improve the quality of life”.
 
Accordingly, tourist organizations throughout Vietnam have launched a campaign to increase public education on advantages of tourism to the economy, environment and culture.
 
Japanese Film Festival
 
On September 22-24, 2006, at the National Cinema Centre, Hanoi, Japanese Embassy in Vietnam and Japanese International Exchanges Fund will organize a Japanese film festival with three films :”Nabbie’s love” by Director Nakae Yuji; “You are my love” by Watanabi Takeyoshi; and “Village in my painting” by Higashi Yoichi. The three films will help Vietnamese audience understand better Japanese culture.
 
According to the Japanese Embassy, from September 20 to October 4, 2006, at Vietnam-Japan Human Resources Cooperation Centre, an exhibition on “Modern Japanese porcelain” will be opened to introduce Japanese cultural art works.
