Central Binh Thuan province is looking forward to luring more than 1.8 million holiday-makers and grossing VND1 trillion (US$62.5 million) from tourism in 2007.
To this end, the sector plans to further improve tourism services and introduce new tourism products such as healthcare tours and adventure tours.
In January alone, the province welcomed over 150,000 tourists, both local and foreign.
Last year Binh Thuan greeted more than 1.5 million visitors and bagged total revenue of VND800 billion (US$50 million), up 23 per cent and 31 per cent year-on-year, respectively.
Binh Thuan, home to several beautiful beaches and famous cultural and historical sites including Co Thach pagoda and Mui Ne, has become one of the most favored destinations for both domestic and overseas vacationers. Notably, Mui Ne tourism site in the provincial town Phan Thiet is often called “The Land of Resorts” with up to 70 of the country’s total of more than 100 resorts located here.
