Coffee Export Hits US$1.2Bln in Jan-June

Vietnam exported 932,000 tonnes of coffee worth US$1.2 billion in the first half this year, up 64 per cent in volume and 109 per cent in value against 2006.
 
In late June and early July, the offered price of robusta coffee L2 of Vietnam slightly fell and hovered at US$1,800-1,830 a tonne, nearly 60 per cent higher than last year’s in the same period. According to statistics of the Ministry of Trade, Vietnam shipped 75,500 tonnes of coffee valued at US$115.5 million in June, representing an on-month decrease of 16.7 per cent in quantity and 16.7 per cent in value, but an on-year rise of 20.6 per cent in volume and 56 per cent in value. Germany and the US are top importers of Vietnamese coffee.
