Argentina Levies Anti-Dumping Tax on Vietnam Spokes
The Argentine Ministry of Economic and Production has decided to impose 81 per cent anti-dumping duty on motorbike and bike spokes imported from Vietnam, said Vietnam’s Trade Ministry’s Competition Management Department.
The duty, effective from late July to 2012, will be levied on spoke caps, spokes without caps and completed spokes with diameters of 1.8-2.5 mm and lengths of 60- 317 mm, the Department noted.
Ironically, according to the Department, Vietnam’s only spoke making firm, which involved in the investigation started late 2005, rejected questionnaires from the Argentina officials while boosting massive spoke export to this country.
In mid-2005, the European Union imposed anti-dumping tariffs of 15.8-34.5 per cent on imports of bicycles from Vietnam. (Liberated Saigon)
