Apparel Accessories Costs Vietnam US$1.12Bln, up 10 per cent in H1
Vietnam garments and textiles sector has imported US$1.12 billion of apparel accessories in the first half of this year, up 10 per cent on-year, state media reported.
In June alone, Vietnam’s apparel sector bought US$250 million of apparel accessories, up 42 per cent on year, the Vietnam Garment and Textiles Association said, noting that in the first second week July, it imported US$80 million worth input materials.
Vietnam now still heavily relies on imported apparel accessories including 95 per cent cotton, 70 per cent synthetic fiber, and 60 per cent of thread demand, Vitas noted.
The country is estimated to reap US$680 million from textile and garment shipments in June, raising the total figure to US$3.43 billion in the first half this year, a rise of 25.9 per cent on-year, the General Statistics Office. (Vinanet)
