Vietnam Reports US$187.5Mln Export-Import Tax Arrears
Total export-import tax arrears by the end of July are estimated at VND3 trillion (US$187.5 million), of which more than VND2.5 trillion are bad debts, said Dang Thi Binh An, deputy head of the General Customs Department.
Most of the arrears are debts remained from 2005 due to the lagged payments or bankruptcy, she said.
Since the beginning of this year, the customs sector collected VND45 trillion ($2.8 billion) of taxes, fulfilling 65 per cent of the full year’s target. (Vietnam Financial Times)
