Vietnam to Tighten Apparel Exports to the US Management
The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the General Department of Customs of Vietnam are jointly building an online network to monitor apparel exports to the US market in a move to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding and losses, said a senior ministerial official Thursday.
Vietnam’s apparel exports to the US with code HTS 10 will be kept regularly updated with statistics relating to customs declaration and production segmentation.
In the Jan-Aug period, Vietnam was estimated to export US$5.1 billion worth garment and textile products, up 30 per cent on-year, and its apparels exports to US market alone hit US$2 billion, up 20 per cent on-year, said the government’s General Statistics Office.
According to the US Customs Department’s statistics in late August, Vietnam’s apparel imports to the foreign country in the first six months of this year, however, it have not announced the conclusion whether Vietnam apparel businesses dumping the US market. (Securities Investment)
