U.S. Firm Plans US$60 Mln Tourism Project in Southern Vietnam
The U.S.’s MH Golden Sands Group plans to invest US$60 million into a luxurious tourism resort project in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, local Investment newspaper reported.
The Hotel Resort Regency Hyatt project will be located in Dam Trau Bay in Con Dao Island, the province’s tourism hub, said the group’s chairman Christopher S.Field at a recent meeting with the provincial authorities.
The province is considering the investor’s approval, said the People’s Committee Chairman Tran Minh Sanh said, adding that an official answer to the project will be given October 15.
Con Dao, 185 km off the Vung Tau coast, is home to 16 islets, encompassing beautiful beaches and forests, 882 species of floral species, 135 species of animals, and more than 1,300 species of marine creatures.
Con Dao will become a modern tourism destination by 2020 capable of receiving 500,000 to 700,000 tourists a year.
