Datanla Waterfall - Da Lat: New DatanlaFalls Waterslide

 

The waterslide system follows the path of the waterfall. Previously, the only way to go down the high waterfall was to walk, but now visitors can slide down, a breathtaking way to view the scenery. To distinguish itself from others, the Company plans to turn Datanla Waterfall into a place where visitors can find adventure, not only sightseeing the beautiful scenery. Then, Da Lat will have a new place of interest for tourists.

 

The waterslide system consists of two slides measuring 1,000 metres, and 200 metres of upward track to return to the starting point. It is constituted by 48 sliding cars (for one or two persons), which can serve 700 persons an hour. The corridors of the slide are protected by a safety net. The waterslide, costing around VND17 billion (over US$1 million), is developed by European technology.

 

From the starting point to the foot of the waterfall, with the length of 1,000 m, the curving waterslide can go at a speed of 40 km an hour. Thus, it takes only 1.5-2 minutes to reach the foot of the waterfall. From the foot of the waterfall to the top of the waterfall, about 200 metres high, the cars are pulled up by cables. The slow speed enables tourists to leisurely view the scenic waterfall.

 

The sudden turns when the sliders are moving down at 40 km an hour are most exciting for visitors. Safety belts are recommended, as turns reach a 40 degree angle, an adventurous and pleasing feeling. Each cable car has a brake system that enables riders to adjust the speed.
