German Porsche to Cut Car Prices on Import Tax Reduction

Prestige Sports Cars Co. Ltd., the sole distributor of Porsche in Vietnam, said it will reduce price of imported cars from November 16, state media reported Tuesday.
 
Porsche’s move came out to follow the import duties the Ministry of Finance recently slashed to 60 per cent on new cars from 70 per cent, Dan Tri online said.
 
Prestige Sport Cars will slash prices for its nine models including the biggest cut of $15,000 for 911 Turbo model and the smallest cut of $6,000 for Cayenne model.
 
Porsche has planed to debut a new auto showroom in 2008 in Phu My Hung urban zone, district 7 in HCMC with a series of luxury models ranging from Cayenne; 911 Turbo and Boxster.
 
Car traders expected prices of Kia Morning will reduce by $600, Toyota Corolla down $1,000, Camry 2.4 down $2,500, Lexus 470 down $4,000, and Lexus 460 down $8,000. (www.dantri.com.vn)
