Vietnam Invests US$3.8 Mln in Mekong Delta Tourism Infrastructure
The Vietnam Administration of Tourism has invested US$3.8 million in building and upgrading tourism infrastructure and training personnel for the Mekong Delta with the aim of boosting the regional tourism.
A large part of the sum is spent on the construction of bridges, harbors and a waste water treatment system in An Giang province.
The investment is made within the framework of the program to develop tourism along Mekong river in coordination with ASEAN countries.
The projects are expected to be completed in 2007.
Mekong Delta is home to 13 cities and provinces.
The regional tourism revenues remain low due to poor tourism products and services. (The People)
