Vietnam Apparel Exports to Russia up 22 per cent in Jan-October

Vietnamese exporters reportedly shipped US$59 million of apparel products to Russia in January-October period, up 22 per cent on-year, the state-run website vitinfo.com.vn said on December 18.
 
Sales of jackets took the lead with 1 million sets worth US$25.7 million, up 17 per cent on year in terms of volume and 82 per cent on year in terms of value, it noted, saying the figure is representing 40 per cent of the total apparel export value to the foreign market.
 
In October, Vietnam sold jacket FBO for US$25.65/ unit, down 25 per cent on month but up 80 per cent on year. The average export price of the item in the month posted at US$25.32/unit, up 46 per cent on year.
 
Exports of warm coats reportedly kept increase strongly with 512,000 units, worth US$12 million, up 34 per cent on year in terms of volume and 86 per cent in terms of value. Its average export price in the month posted at US$23.46/unit, slightly up on year.
 
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Russia was estimated to reach US$1.1 billion in 2006, up 8 per cent on-year, said government statistics, stressing that the two countries aim to raise bilateral trade to US$2-3 billion in 2010. (Vitinfo)
