Vietnam Expects US$9 Bln Export Revenues from ASEAN this Year

Vietnam has set a target to export US$9 billion commodities to the ASEAN market this year, up 15.4 per cent on year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
 
Major export items include rice, vegetables, fruits, coffee and seafood, the ministry said.
 
Last year, Vietnam earned an estimated US$7.8 billion from exports to the bloc, up 21.7 per cent on year.
 
Of the total, rice exports took lead with the revenues of over US$1 billion, followed by seafood US$168 million, garments and footwear US$175 million, coffee US$145 million, and vegetables and fruits US$25 million.
 
The country expects to raise export turnovers of seafood, garments and footwear, coffee, vegetables and fruits to US$200 million, US$202 million, US$155 million and US$32 million this year, respectively. (VNA)
