Vietnam's Southern Province Bags US$900 Mln from Exports in Jan-February
Southern Binh Duong province of Vietnam is estimated to have earned US$906.3 million from exports in the first two months of this year, up 25 per cent on-year, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
Of the sum, foreign directed investment (FDI) enterprises contribute US$692.8 million, an on-year rise of 31 per cent, and non-state businesses with US$186.1 million, up 12.7 per cent.
Some key exports such as electronics, handicrafts, woodwork products, electric wires and cables, footwear, and apparel reports high growth rates at 66 per cent, 33.8 per cent, 29.3 per cent, 16.7 per cent, 14.9 per cent and 2.7 per cent, respectively.
China, Germany, Holland, Japan, South Korea, the U.K. and the U.S. remain major markets for the province's export items.
To boost exports, the provincial authorities have mapped out a development plan through 2010 which focuses on five key products such as woodwork, footwear, garments, handicrafts and rubber latex. (VNA)
