Work Starts on US$43 Mln Eco-tourism Complex in Central Vietnam
The Gami Investment and Tourism Joint Stock Company March 11 kicked off construction of an eco-tourism complex in Hoi An town in central Quang Nam province with total capital of US$43 million, state media said.
To cover over 113 hectares, the Gami complex will include a multi-functional conference hall, an eco-tourism village, hotels, trade center, villas and other entertainment facilities, Dao Tien Dung, vice chairman of the company said
The project will contribute to make the town landscape more splendid and beautiful, Dung added without revealing the time to complete the project.
Hoi An is now home to around 1,000 ancient houses, and 16 tourist transport companies with a total of 65 four to 45-seat cars, 24 cruise ships and ten high-speed boats.
The town, which was a well preserved Southeast Asian trading port from the 15th to the 19th centuries, was declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999.
