324 Foreign, Domestic Firms Gather for Vietbuild 2008
An international exhibition on civil engineering, building and home decoration, Vietbuild 2008, took place in Hanoi April 17, attracting 324 domestic and foreign companies, Vietnam News Agency reported.
Up to 183 are domestic firms and the rest come from 16 territories and countries worldwide.
Participants brought to the five-day event building materials, interior and exterior decoration, building designs, paint, glass and windows, power facilities and construction equipment and technology, which are being displayed at 800 booths.
Up to 80 per cent of enterprises joining Vietbuild 2007 continued their participation at this year’s event, the local Urban & Economy newspaper said.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung said Vietbuild will be an important opportunity for local enterprises to introduce their building products to foreigners and seek partners.
According to Deputy Construction Minister Nguyen Tran Nam, many big economic contracts are expected signed at the gathering.
Vietbuild, the biggest of its kind in the country, is held annually in Hanoi, central coastal Da Nang city and Ho Chi Minh City by the Ministry of Construction, the AFC International Exhibition and Fair Corporation and the Vietnam Exhibition, Conference and Advertisement Company (VCCI EXPO).
