Interest Rates Remain Unchanged

On 29 April, 2008 the State Bank of Vietnam issued Decision No. 978/QS-NHNN on the basic interest rate in VND and Notice No. 223/TB-NHNN on interest rates in VND. Accordingly, some interest rates in VND of the State Bank enforced on 1 May, 2008 include an 8.76 percent basic rate per year; 7.50 percent re-financing rate and 6.00 percent discount rate for credit organizations. The VND interest rates enforced on 1 May 2008 remain unchanged from April. The state Banks continue maintaining such interest rates.
