ANZ Tops Among Foreign ATM Installers in Vietnam
The Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Ltd (ANZ), Vietnam's best retail bank, has completed the installment of its 60th Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) throughout the country, marking it as the foreign bank with largest ATM system in Vietnam.
The bank plans to reinforce the installation of the ATM system whereby customers can withdraw money and carry out transactions via the system easier and faster, said Philip Crouch, director of ANZ’s individual financial service department.
Banks in Vietnam have so far launched about ten million cards and the tendency of using cards of Vietnamese may increase strongly because customers are aware of utility of using this "E-money", he added.
ANZ has recently focused its investment on property, infrastructure, banking and pharmaceuticals fields in Vietnam.
ANZ entered Vietnam in 1993 and it has held a 40 per cent stake of a joint venture with Sacombank, owned a 10 per cent stake in Sacombank and another 10 per cent stake in Vietnam’s leading stock broker, the Saigon Securities Inc. (Vietnam Economic Times)
