VCCI, Ocean Group Launch National SME Week 2008

On July 30 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Ocean Group signed an agreement on collaboration in organising the National SME Week 2008. According to Mr Hoang Van Dung, Vice Chairman of VCCI, the National SME Week 2008, themed “Connection and Integration for Joint Development,” will take place in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities in the middle of November 2008. The SME Week will have a series of activities like business forums, exhibitions, TV talk shows, training courses and others to create opportunities for policymakers, concerned ministries and branches to organise the development support for SMEs and for enterprises to exchange points of view, share experience and propose solutions to develop SMEs. At the same time, the SME Week will also hold meetings for SMEs and business development service providers like consultancy, corporate finance and performance improvement.

 

The first SME Week was held in December 1996 in Vung Tau City and it has now reached over 40 provinces and cities. This is the first time the SME Week is organised nationwide and this event will turn annual from this year.

 

Ocean Group, commercial representative for economics, financial and securities channel InfoTV-VCTV9, and VCCI also inked another agreement under which InfoTV will become a full information provider for VCCI from now until 2010. Accordingly, VCCI will disseminate economic information, investment cooperation opportunities and trade promotions to enterprises and businesspeople through the InfoTV channel.
