MPI: Vietnam to Invest US$800 Mln Abroad This Year
Vietnamese firms are expected to invest abroad US$800 million this year despite the global financial crisis, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
In Jan-Oct, Vietnamese firms invested into 52 projects valued at US$502.7 million mainly in industrial areas with 24 projects worth US$239 million, accounting for 75.5 per cent of the total, the ministry said.
Notably, Viet-Laos JS Co invested US$142.09 million in Nam Mo hydropower plant in Laos.
