Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung December 22 urged relevant bodies to mobilize capital for two giant aviation projects, including the project on Terminal T2 of the Noi Bai International Airport and the Long Thanh International Airport project, website of the Government reported.

The PM allowed investors of the Noi Bai Terminal T2 to borrow 50 per cent of the capital from the Viet Nam Development Bank and 50 per cent from other commercial banks.

In necessary cases, the Government will guarantee the loans from commercial banks.

The Ministry of Transport was assigned to instruct investors to design mechanisms to manage, exploit and provide aviation and non-aviation services at Terminal T2, so as to recover their investment capital.

Mentioning the Long Thanh International Airport, the PM asked the founder-shareholders to contribute 70 per cent of the charter capital in order hold the dominant role. Foreign strategic and ordinary shareholders are permitted to account for the remaining 30 per cent.

Terminal T2 at the Nội Bài Airport is a 4-storey building with the total floor area of 90,000 m2. This project requires around JP¥ 31 billion. It will be inaugurated in October 2010.

The Long Thành International Airport covers 5,000 ha in Long Thành District of Đồng Nai Province. The US US$8-billion project is expected to serve international aviation integration. (www.chinhphu.vn) )
