Indian Cos Seeking Investment Opportunities in Vietnam
A delegation of 70 Indian companies will take part in a business conference slated for Feb 12 to 14 in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City to seek investment opportunities in the Asean country's agro, infrastructure development, tourism, IT and manufacturing fields.
The event is co-held by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Vietnam Commerce and Industry Chamber (VCCI).
Officials of India's eight northeast provinces are also attending the event.
According to VCCI, bilateral trade between Vietnam and India was expected to hit US$2 billion last year, up 33 per cent on year.
In 2007, two-way trade between the two countries jumped 51 per cent on year to US$1.5 billion.
Vietnam mainly imports machines, equipment, feed materials, footwear, and garments and textiles accessories from the foreign country and exports pepper, rubber, computer hardware and electronic products, cinnamon bark and spice, and garment and textile products. (Investment)
