EU Pledges EUR716.21M for Vietnam This Year

European Union has pledged EUR716.21 million ODA for Vietnam this year, Vietnamese state media said, citing a senior official of EU.
 
Of the total, EUR308 million will be non-refundable aid, making the EU become the biggest donor of the country so far, said Ambassador Sean Doyle, head of the EC delegation to Vietnam.
 
Amid the global crisis, Vietnam will remain among top prioritized countries EU will provide aids to, Michal Kral, Czech ambassador to Vietnam said.
 
EU has just introduced the “Green Book”, an annual report on Vietnam’s socioeconomic development. (Vietnam Economic Times, The People)
