On September 8, 2009 in Ha Noi, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) admitted 43 new members, which are operated in a wide range of fields like commerce, tourism, import, export, shipbuilding, law consulting and others. In addition to companies, VCCI also opened the door to business associations such as Bac Giang Province Business Association and Overseas Vietnamese Business Association.

According to many companies, the VCCI membership not only helps enterprises to access more opportunities to do business with foreign markets and training courses on human resource management but also get legal supports in their business operations.

In fact, VCCI member companies received considerable supports from the representative of the business communities in Vietnam. For instance, VCCI creates more opportunities for enterprises to do business with partners in Vietnam and other countries, consults legal issues and business matters, organises trade fairs, seminars, training courses and business delegations, help enterprises to apply for patent and utility solutions, to register trademarks in Vietnam and other countries, apply for certificate of origins and other documents in international trade, and solve business disputes.

So far, VCCI has nearly 8,000 members. If individual members of industry associations are counted, the figure approximates 100,000.
