Vietnam’s tourism industry attracted US$4.7 billion foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first nine months of this year, the state media reported Monday, citing the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
Most of the total sum came from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Russia and Japan investors who are actively expanding their business in Vietnam.
The Thai newspaper, Bangkok Post, has recently run an article saying that Vietnam's tourism industry witnessed a slight recovery in September with an on-year increase of 2.7%.
Vietnam has not decided to reduce the target of international arrivals from the initial target of 4.5 million this year to around 3.7 million to 3.8 million. (Vietnam & World Economy, New Hanoi)
