Vietnam Travelers to U.S. Can Renew Visas by Mail
Vietnamese travelers to the U.S. can renew their visas by mail, according to the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam.
The move aims to save time and money for tourists, the U.S. Embassy said in a press release on September 30.
In many cases, applicants no longer need to come to the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi or U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City for an interview or new set of fingerprints.
Students, temporary workers, business travelers and tourists can often take advantage of the new system.
To qualify for this program, applicants must be physically present in Vietnam. They should be applying for the same visa type as in their previous non-immigrant visa.
The number of U.S. visitors to Vietnam increased 36% to 35,400 in the first nine months of this year, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) reported on its website. (Pioneer)
