Vietnam Imports from Germany Down 19% to US$868.4M in Jan-Aug
Vietnam imported US$868.4 million worth of goods from Germany in the first eight months of 2009, falling 19% from a year earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
Vietnam’s key imports, machines, equipment and spare parts took the lead with a combined value of US$411.8 million during the period, the ministry said without giving on-year comparison.
The Southeast Asian country bought US$56.13 million worth of pharmaceuticals and US$38.66 million worth chemical products, the ministry added.
Trade between Vietnam and Germany in 2009 is forecast to equal to last year’s figure of around US$4 billion. (Vinanet)
