Vietnam Southern Province Attracts US$2.78B FDI in Jan-Nov

Vietnam’s southern province of Dong Nai attracted US$2.78 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first 11 months of the year, up 6.7% from a year earlier and fulfilling 39% of the full-year target.
 
Of the total, the province licensed 29 new projects worth US$2.3 billion and allowed 38 projects to add a combined US$395.4 million.
 
In November, Dong Nai issued an investment license to the Malaysian Berjaya Group to build Nhon Trach city capitalized at US$2 billion, the locality’s largest FDI project so far.
 
Also, the province licensed 1,979 new private businesses with a combined registered capital of VND10.31 trillion, bringing the total number of private firms to 9,900.
 
Dong Nai now houses 978 FDI projects valued at US$17.56 billion, which employ 400,000 workers. (vovnews)
