Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has urged municipal and provincial industry and trade services nationwide to keep a close eye on prices of essential goods and their supply and demand till the Lunar New Year or Tet holiday.

The services were requested to pay due attention to supply and demand of sugar and rice.

Hai also asked the services to report their storage of essential goods for Tet holiday and outline measures to stabilize prices of the goods in urgent cases.

In early December, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung also urged ministries, agencies and localities nationwide to join hands to stabilize prices of essential goods and to ensure sufficient commodities for Tet. (Laborer, VNS)
