Vietnam Imports 100 Tons of Frozen Meat Daily
Vietnam has imported 3-4 containers or 100 tons of frozen meat each day in the last months of this year, down 70%-80% compared to that a year earlier, according to a senior official of Ho Chi Minh City’s Veterinary Center.
Nguyen Xuan Binh, head of the veterinary center, was quoted by the newspaper as saying that the drop of imported frozen meat is due to the tightened control of veterinary authorities, and reduced demand in the domestic market.
Regarding the imported sub-standard meat, Binh said that a large quantity of it had been re-exported and there are only 100 tons left, waiting for re-export. (Youth)
