Vietnam Plastic Imports Fall 4.5% to US$2.8B in 2009
Vietnam spent US$2.8 billion on importing plastics last year, down 4.5% from a year earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
In December, the country’s imports of these materials dropped 49.1% to $136.5 million.
South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Japan were Vietnam’s key exporters with respective figures of $511.57 million, up 7%, $455.32 million, down 16.5%, $330.46 million, down 22% and $222.25 million, up 19% on-year.
The country also exported $802 million worth of plastic products in 2009, down 12.9% on-year. (vinanet)
