Vietnam to Lead World for Non-Alcohol Drinks Market Growth
Total output of Vietnam’s non-alcohol drinks is expected to grow 50% between 2007 and 2012, the fastest growth in the world.
Pham Song, chairman of the Vietnam Medical Association, said a Vietnamese can consume three liters of bottled non-alcohol drinks on average a year, compared to 50 liters for a Filipino.
Local drink producers are expanding their operations because the domestic demand for non-alcohol drinks keeps rising. They are warned of improving safety standards of their drink products.
The Ministry of Health earlier estimated that Vietnam annually has 10,000 cases of food poisoning and one million cases of diseases relating to digestion. (dantri.com.vn)
