In 2009, It was really a turbulent year for businesses including Bac Lieu Fishes Join Stock Company (BLF) with many rapid fluctuations and big challenges like the cost of raw materials continuously changed, many technical and commercial barriers were made up in profitable markets, etc. However, by proper and flexible solutions, BLF not only stood steady but also rose strongly.
The forerunner of BLF was Bac Lieu Fishes Limited Company. It was equitized in 2006 with the primary functions of producing and exporting items having high added values such as common tiger prawn, squid, sushi, cake from vegetables, steamed vegetables, frozen fried vegetables, etc. Now BLF is a prestigious trademark for traditional markets like the United States, Japan, and EU. And it did soon locate its potential customers in Korean market. Moreover, the enterprise always finds appropriate items and markets to ensure its planed revenues will be completed.
In comparison with the businesses having the same scale of capital and in the same industry in Bac Lieu Province as well as some small and medium scale enterprises in Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) BLF is rated outstanding in many faces. Especially, the enterprise’s diversified business model has brought many advantages to BLF. Its business fields can support each other to create favorable conditions in the market when one of the fields has problems.
BLF’s leaders always determine that the quality of their products is the key factor which has led the company to success, and the value of their trademark is the decisive factor for the existence and development of the company. Therefore, almost products of BLF were produced according to a strictly controlled process. And thus the quality and safety of their products are always guaranteed at the highest level, satisfy exporting standards and get the appreciation from foreign customers.
To achieve the above objectives, Mr Nguyen Thanh Dam - General Director of BLF showed that, BLF hopes relevant departments actively provide specific data on area, production, farming areas, etc. to the company have references, from that the company will have correct investment decisions. More importantly, to meet the shopping needs of customers and production requirements of the plant in 2010 as well as subsequent years, BLF suggested that the People's Committee, Agriculture and Rural Development Service of Bac Lieu Province should have appropriate direction in land planning to facilitate the company growing and stabilizing types of vegetables and fruits originating in Japan or to deploy in each household, thereby to take part in stability and improving the quality of life of local farmers.
