Vietnam Needs $2.25B to Develop Industrial Complexes by 2015: Ministry
Vietnam needs VND100 trillion ($2.25 billion) for infrastructure development projects in industrial complexes from now to 2015, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The country has so far zoned 76,520 hectares of land for 1,872 industrial complexes. Of the figures, 918 industrial complexes have been set up, covering a combined area of 40,597 hectares with an occupancy rate of 26.4%.
Under a recent draft filed by the ministry, Vietnam it will give more incentives to the development of industrial complexes. Investors of industrial complexes will get 50% interest rate-subsidized loans at local commercial banks. The subsidy will be offset by the state budget.
Capital priorities will be offered for industrial complexes which are wholly invested by Vietnamese companies, those under construction and having at least 30% of area occupied. (Vietnam Economic Times)
