U.S. Remains Vietnam Top Importer in H1: GSO
The U.S. remained Vietnam’s biggest importer as the latter’s exports to the former soared 22% on-year to US$6.2 billion in the first half, making up 19.31% of the Southeast Asian nation’s sum, the General Statistics Office said.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the European Union ranked the second and the third with respective figures of US$5.3 billion, up 21% on-year and US$4.8 billion, up 5.9%, the GSO said on July 1.
Japan, China and South Korea held the following places with respective values of US$3.5 billion, up 31%, US$2.8 billion, up 44% and US$1.2 billion, up 35%.
The office estimated Vietnam exported US$32.1 billion worth of goods in H1, up 15.7% on-year. (GSO)
