Vietnam Petroleum Imports +20.6% to $2.8B in Jan-May: Ministry
Vietnam spent $2.8 billion on importing 4.5 million metric tons of petroleum products in the first five months of this year, up 20.6% from a year earlier in value but down 21.3% in volume, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
The Southeast Asian country imported over 976,800 metric tons of the products worth $626 million in May, down 13.5% on year in volume but up 16.6% in value.
Singapore was Vietnam’s top petroleum supplier in the five-month period with 1.69 million metric tons valued at $1 billion.
It was followed by China with 796,216 metric tons worth $544.5 million and Taiwan with 490,913 metric tons valued at $340.6 million. (vinanet)
