Vietnam Joins 5th Tonkin Gulf Economic Forum
A Vietnamese delegation attended the 5th Pan-Beibu Gulf (PBG) Economic Cooperation Forum that opened in Nanning, capital of South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on August 12.
The mission, led by Deputy Minister of Transport Le Manh Hung, includes representatives from the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Industry and Trade and Transport.
The event entitled “Development of China-ASEAN free trade agreement and Tonkin Gulf economic cooperation” will focus on discussing three main issues, including the establishment China-ASEAN free trade area and development of Nanning-Singapore Economic Corridor.
Talks among 500 big companies about international investment and cooperation in shipping, ports and logistics in the PBG region will be also held during the forum.
The economic meeting attracted 400 delegates from China, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam.
Vietnam and China share a land borderline of 1,419 kilometers, which have been demarcated by the two sides with signing three relevant agreements last year, and a part of waters in the Tokin Gulf. (VNA)
