Quynh Bang Commune: Awakening Tourism

Quynh Bang Commune, previously ‘Phu Da’ village, has been a famous address for festivals and attractive eco-tourism for many visitors for a long time. With a natural area of 934.7 hectares and a 3.5 kilometre coastline, Quynh Bang Commune, situated in the centre of the Bai Ngang region and stretching from Lach Con to Lac Quen, is considered a great place for visitors’ to explore.
Each year, Quynh Bang Beach attracts tens of thousands of Vietnamese and foreign visitors. The proud Quy Linh Mountain with its tunnel will also become an attractive place for visitors. In this place on February 3, 1966, the people in Quynh Bang captured an American pilot. In recognition of the commune’s great contribution to the anti-American resistance war Quynh Bang was presented with the People’s Armed Force Hero title in 1995.
Quynh Bang has a temple dedicated to the head of the army and Duke Ho Huu Nhan who made contributed to the struggle against the Ming (Chinese) invaders and set up Phu Da village. His temple is also the worshipping place of ancestors of the Ho family and other dead heroes mentioned in Vietnam history books. For centuries, the temple has been a place of spiritual activity for the local people and descendents of Duke Ho Huu Nhan. In 1999, the relic site of the grave and temple of Duke Ho Huu Nhan was recognised as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information. Each year, the Ho Huu Nhan temple festival is organised on January 14-21 of the lunar calendar. From the relic site, visitors can see the beautiful Tru Hai Quynh Xuan Mountain surrounded by archaeological sites of the famous Quynh Van culture to the northwest, Hien Hoa Mountain to the southwest, Doi Than archaeological site on the right, the Dong Son archaeological site on the left, Xuoc Mountain to the north and Bang Islet to the southeast. One kilometre further is the great sea.
