Thanh Thanh Dat: Quick Affirmation of Its Position

Since the start of national reform and the integration agenda, the network of private enterprises has gradually affirmed their crucial role in the country’s development. Among them is Thanh Thanh Dat Co., Ltd, which is involved in various sectors with over 20 affiliated units operating in food trading; road and marine transportation service; construction; forest plantation and exploitation; paper material production; construction investment, housing and sea port exploitation management; ship agent service; and automobile trading. Given its success in Nghe An province, the company has also expanded to other provinces such as Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Quang Binh etc, and even to neighbouring countries Laos and China.
Brand affirmation
Thanh Thanh Dat was founded in 2002. With the leadership of General Director Tran Quang Luan and the solidarity of its qualified employees, Thanh Thanh Dat has seen continuous growth with its staff increasing from 50 to 1,800 by 2012. The turnover was VND16 billion in the beginning and reached over VND1,700 billion by December 31, 2012. The company describes itself as an investor with strengths of capital, experience and wins the reputation and high appreciation from its partners, the authorities of the localities where the investment projects are placed. In addition, Thanh Thanh Dat has always witnessed high growth rate. Annually, it also receives many certificates of merit and prestigious titles for business activities, contributions to the society and State Budget. In 2006, the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued the Trademark Registration Certificate 135502 to the trademark of Thanh Thanh Dat and list of products and services entitled with the trademark.
 
Thanh Thanh Dat has now become a strong business with operation covering varied areas such as manufacturing paper for export, construction materials, refined alcohol, construction brick and tile. The company’s products are now present in most national markets and some other countries like Laos, China and South Korea. Its affiliated plants are located in Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and even Laos and China.
 
Apart from the maintenance and outreach of business markets for its key products, the company has continuously expanded its production and business scope through investments in varied new areas such as construction of offices for lease, houses and apartments, eco-urban areas and real estate trading, erection of bridges and roads for transports with more than 80 heavy-duty trucks. Regarding marine transport, there are 15 ships with capacity ranging from 1,000 – 5,000 tonnes.
In recent years, Thanh Thanh Dat has been regarded as an enterprise with strong and sustainable development and awarded with many certificates of merit, golden cups and prestigious titles by ministries, departments and Nghe An province. Particularly, in 2008, the company was listed as one of 100 excellent enterprises in the 1st International Economic Integration. In 2010, Ministry of Industry and Trade and Cambodia – Vietnam – Laos Association for Technical Cooperation Development awarded the golden cup of “Talented Directors” to the company’s leaders. The company was also known as one of the most excellent enterprises and the director himself was honoured as the typical entrepreneur in the 2nd International Economic Integration. Also in 2010, the company was awarded the Vietnam Gold Star Award. This story repeated in 2011, which also saw the company’s receipt of “Mekong Gold Brand”. In 2012, Thanh Thanh Dat was listed in the 500 fastest growing companies (FAST500) by the Vietnam Report JSC. Notably, also in 2012, Prime Minister presented the certificate of personal merit to Director General Tran Quang Luan and the company Thanh Thanh Dat for “merits in production and business performance and participation in charity and social activities in Nghe An province, contribution to development of socialism and national defence”.
 
Thanh Thanh Dat determines its development strategies of continuing to expand its scope of producing and trading products through exploitation of local strengths and comparative advantages, meetings socio-economic development needs in the most practical manner; and expanding operation areas for mutual support. The company also targets rapid growth, which, however, should ensure effectiveness and sustainability and aims to become a strong enterprise in the Central Region in 2020.
 
Special attention to social welfare
Along with achievements in its production and business for 11 years, Thanh Thanh Dat has always placed itself in the leading position in social welfare activities, actively participating in the local community. Every year, Thanh Thanh Dat contributes hundreds of billion of VND to charity funds caring for martyrs’ mothers, funds for natural disaster and flood prevention, and helping the poor. Such meaningful social activities are notable remarks that reflect the responsibilities of Thanh Thanh Dat toward the development of Nghe An in particular and of the whole country in general.
