As one of the investors participating in the Co Chien Bridge project under the form of BOT (Build-Operation-Transfer), Tuan Loc Construction Investment JSC is showing significant contribution in promoting the socio-economic development of Tra Vinh province in particular and of the Mekong Delta in general.

Established in 2005, Tuan Loc was originally a unit specializing in construction of water supply, sewerage system and concrete piles. By 2008, because of the development of the market economy and increasing demand of the construction industry in terms of quality, progress and safety, the Board of Directors and the passionate loyal members of the company jointly converted the company into Tuan Loc Construction Investment JSC which covered diverse areas of operation including construction of roads and bridges, investment in BOT projects of transport, investment in the development of industrial parks, investment in, construction and installation of fresh water factories and waste water treatment plants, and investment in exploiting ports, thereby contributing significantly to the overall development of the country.

To ensure the quality of projects it invests in, over the years, the company has always devoted all of its resources to invest in machinery, equipment and technology. According to Mr Bui Thai Ha, Director of Tuan Loc Construction Investment JSC, from the beginning, the company has identified technology as the key factor. To be specific, the company must possess advanced construction and installation technology, invest in machinery with large capacity, ensure the implementation of the projects requiring large technical factors such as deep river, difficult geology. Thanks to that, in recent years, Tuan Loc JSC has become widely known when investing in a number of major road and bridge projects in the south under the BOT model. Specifically, the company has contributed to the successful implementation of the construction package of Giong Ong To Bridge (District 2, Ho Chi Minh city), contract package of Rach Chieu Bridge (Hanoi Highway, Ho Chi Minh City), and contract package of the access road connecting two points of Giong Ong To Bridge. Following those successes, Tuan Loc JSC is implementing a series of major contract packages of national importance including the construction of Co Chien Bridge, Vam Cong Bridge, Cao Lanh Bridge and many other projects.

Notably, Co Chien Bridge project that the company is implementing is considered having particularly significance, playing an important role in the development strategy of the coastal transport corridor, contributing to the socio-economic development and securing national defence in the Mekong Delta, especially in Tra Vinh and Ben Tre province. The project is invested under BOT model with a total investment capital of VND 2,308 billion, of which investment capital of investors, Civil Engineering Construction Corporation 1 (CIENCO) and Tuan Loc Consctruction Investment JSC, being VND 1,264 billion (54.7 percent); State capital budget accounts for VND 1,044 billion (45.3 percent) with the Ministry of Transport being the main investor and Project Management Unit 7 representative of investor. Co Chien Bridge is the bridge with reinforced and pre-stressed concrete of very large scale and built in the section with strong, complex river flow of Co Chien River. Expected date of completion is late July 2015. However, investors and construction units are striving to finish the project in early May 2015.

Once completed, Co Chien Bridge, along with Ham Luong Bridge and Rach Mieu Bridge, will open Highway 60 from Tien Giang to Tra Vinh, shortening the distance from Ho Chi Minh City to Tra Vinh to about 70 kilometers, making a close link between Highway 60 and Highway 1, reducing growing traffic pressure on Highway 1, meeting the needs of the growing traffic of Tra Vinh province and promoting efficiency of Dinh An economic zone when put in operation.

Mr Ha said, in the upcoming time, the company is expected to continue to invest in research and look for opportunities to cooperate with the Ministry of Transport and Tra Vinh province's authority to work on the traffic sectors following Co Chien Bridge project to synchronize transportation infrastructure system of the province, contributing to expanding trade routes between Tra Vinh and neighbouring localities.
