Some Places for Sightseeing and Travelling

Mong Cai-Tra Co

More and more tours have been organised to beaches in cold weather, especially on early days of the New Year. Quang Ninh province has become an attractive destination for visitors. Apart from well-known Ha Long Bay, the Tra Co beach, the Dong Hung market and many other landscapes in Quang Ninh have attracted many visitors.

Mong Cai town is located on the bank of the Ka Long river with the international border gate of Bac Luan linking Quang Ninh province with Guangxi province of China. In Mong Cai, guests can visit the Mong Cai border gate market, busy with trade activities enriching the town.

From Mong Cai, 350 kilometres away from Hanoi, going seven more kilometres, visitors will reach the Tra Co beach, which has recently become an attractive place for many tourists.

Tra Co is a large and flat beach with a 15 kilometre long sand strip. As a side of an isle formed under the impacts of waves and the inshore sea current, the Tra Co beach is separated from the Mong Cai delta by a lagoon. Tra Co has cool weather with a quiet and large space. Average temperature in Tra Co is measured at 22 degrees. Temperature falls below 20 degrees between December and March. The highest temperature is measured between 26 and 28 degrees. This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam. Also, in Tra Co, guests can visit pagodas, temples and churches, as well as fishermen's villages. Every year, the beach attracts thousands of visitors.

The Tra Co communal house's festival, organised between May 30 and June 6 (lunar calendar), attracts many visitors from other localities nationwide and foreigners.
