Central Province to Register Trademark for "Sea Festival"

Central coastal Khanh Hoa province is to register the trademark for its "Sea Festival" in order to protect copyright for the biannual festival.

The provincial People's Committee released the move after other localities across the nation, home to over 3,200 km of coastline, had planned similar festivals with the same name.

Accordingly, the municipal Culture and Information Service was assigned to map out and complete procedures for the registration as soon as possible.

The “Sea Festival” was held for the first time in March 2003 and the second in late March this year in Nha Trang Bay, ranked in the world’s 29 top beautiful bays list.

In the first quarter this year, Khanh Hoa served nearly 200,000 visitors, up 13% on-year with the number of foreign arrivals up 16% over the same period last year.

Revenues from the hospitality sector were reported at VND150 billion ($9.5 million), posting an on-year increase of 27.7%.

Khanh Hoa, 450km from Ho Chi Minh City, is home to one of the most attractive beaches in Vietnam and the splendid Nha Trang bay.

The metropolis city of Nha Trang is also home of several luxury resorts with the Ana Mandara Resort named as the Best Asian resort.
