ACB Improves Services

As a young bank, Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) has made continued efforts and recorded fine achievements. ACB has now a head office, 45 branches and transaction offices.

Human resources development

With early application of new technology in 1999-2000, ACB has developed good products and services. In addition, the young and experienced staff has been reinforced by new graduates from the US, Australia, Canada, meeting the ever-increasing demand of the market. ACB has a training centre in Ho Chi Minh city and will open another in the North. Training courses have been organised all the year round on transaction, credit, credit card, etc. New recruits are trained at the centre and on-the-job. A simulation transaction model at ACB training centre can train practical jobs and improve professional standard of the staff.

With the fast development of Binh Duong province, in November 2004, ACB established a branch in the province and focused on small and medium size enterprises, especially in such sectors as wooden furniture, ceramics, garment, etc. Currently, all ACB products and services have been available in Binh Duong. In the third quarter of 2005, Binh Duong branch will open two more transaction offices in Thu Dau Mot and Bung markets. The total ACB mobilised capital in Binh Duong is VND100 billion with credit of some VND50 billion.

Diversified products and services

To continue its leading in new products and diversified services, in May 2005, ACB announced three new products. They include foreign currency option between US dollar and Vietnamese Dong, giving clients the right to sell and buy foreign currencies. ACB is one of the two banks authorised by the government to experiment the service. The second product is domestic payment service, providing credits based on potential income, accelerating the capital cycle of the enterprises. The third is the Call centre guiding ACB clients on banking services such as information on credit, addresses of branches, the use of credit card and other services.

In the third quarter of 2005, ACB will develop two more products on payment loan and ascending interest rates. The payment loan is applied to enterprises with regular, stable and short-term working capital. It will help enterprises in quick business transactions. While the ascending interest rates will encourage savings with higher interest rates. In addition, ACB will have new service maximising the banking deposit and improving the relationship with the clients. ACB is determined to continue to the lead in products an services.
