Boosting investment attraction

Gia Lai has identified improving the investment and business climate as a top priority for mobilizing social resources and creating new growth drivers.

From the beginning of 2026, the Provincial People's Committee assigned socioeconomic development targets to each department, agency, locality, and all 135 communes and wards, linking the accountability of agency heads to implementation results. The province has also applied the principle of the "six clarities" while increasing on-site inspections to promptly resolve obstacles related to investment, land, site clearance, and production and business activities.

One of Gia Lai's most significant reforms has been its gradual shift from traditional administration to data-driven governance. A two-tier socioeconomic information system is now in operation, integrating the monitoring of development indicators, public investment disbursement, and implementation results for each locality. This provides a foundation for more transparent, timely, and flexible governance in adjusting growth scenarios.

As a result, the investment climate has continued to improve, providing a solid foundation for attracting new investment. A major milestone was the 2026 Gia Lai Investment Promotion Conference, which brought together about 800 domestic and international businesses and investors. During the conference, the province granted investment policy approvals, issued investment registration certificates, and signed memorandums of understanding for 273 projects with total registered capital of nearly VND850 trillion (US$35.4 billion), creating significant opportunities for cooperation in processing industries, high-tech agriculture, energy, logistics, urban development, commerce, and services.

From the beginning of the year through June 17, 2026, Gia Lai attracted 161 new investment projects with total registered capital exceeding VND163.135 trillion (US$6.8 billion), 3.46 times higher than the same period last year. During the same period, the province recorded 1,929 newly established businesses with total registered capital of nearly VND28.5 trillion (US$1.2 billion), up 57% in the number of businesses and 78% in registered capital.

These figures reflect the results of administrative reform, governance innovation, and the province's commitment to building a transparent, open investment environment where effective service to businesses is the measure of government performance.

Removing bottlenecks and partnering with businesses

Recognizing the business community as a key driver of growth, Gia Lai is building a government that partners with and serves businesses while continuously improving the investment and business climate to help companies invest with confidence and expand production.

According to Tran Cang, Director of the Gia Lai Department of Finance, the province is committed to building an administration founded on integrity, discipline, and decisive action, shifting from a management mindset to one focused on service, partnership, and facilitation, with businesses and investors at the center of governance. Every provincial policy is aimed at creating a transparent, business-friendly investment environment.

At the same time, Gia Lai encourages the business community to adopt the mindset of "Think Big, Act Bold," "Say What You Do, Do What You Say," and "Honor Every Commitment," while proactively restructuring production, applying science and technology, artificial intelligence (AI), advanced management models, and sustainable development standards to strengthen competitiveness.

In practice, the improving investment climate has encouraged many major companies to choose Gia Lai as a long-term investment destination. Johan van den Ban, General Director of De Heus Vietnam and Asia, said Gia Lai has strong advantages in land availability, raw materials, natural conditions, and a clear vision for becoming a regional high-tech livestock production center. One example is the DHN Gia Lai high-tech agriculture complex, with total investment of nearly VND1 trillion (US$41.7 million), which completed Phase 2 and began operations in February 2026, 10 months ahead of schedule. According to Johan van den Ban, this achievement was made possible through close cooperation between the company and local authorities throughout the project's implementation.

In the coming period, Gia Lai will continue prioritizing investment in processing industries, logistics, renewable energy, high-tech agriculture, urban development, tourism, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy, while advancing administrative reform, improving service quality, and promptly addressing challenges facing investors.

With a strong commitment to building a government that serves businesses, Gia Lai is strengthening its position as an attractive destination for domestic and international investment while continuing to unlock new growth resources.
