6th National Circus Festival Opened in Hue

The sixth National Circus Festival, jointly held by Vietnam Performance Arts Department and the Thua Thien-Hue Province’s Department of Culture and Information, is set to open in Hue City from June 6 to 9, 2006. This is one of the activities of the Festival Hue 2006 Programme, aiming to assess the circus arts situation in recent years and seek measures to develop this art in the preset direction of the Ministry of Culture and Information.

 

To create conditions for circuses and performers to exchange and acquire experience, participants of the festival will continue performing in several places in Hue and across Vietnam.

 

Eight professional units from six provinces and cities will take part in the circus festival. Circus acts have selected to guarantee professional characteristics and high artistic contents.

 

The festival expects to attract 2,500 viewers a day by low-price tickets. In addition, the organising committee will award medals for excellent acts and authors.
