VCCI-HCM Reviews Activities of 2006 First Half
The VCCI-HCM on August 16 opened a meeting to review its activities in the first six months of 2006, which was attended by Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Branch Directors Board, nearly 100 staff working at the VCCI-HCM branch.
Vo Tan Thanh, Director of VCCI-HCM, said, in terms of trade promotion activities, the VCCI-HCM received more than 140 international delegations and organisations in the first half of this year. Regarding the membership development, the branch admitted 86 new members, raising the total membership to 2,328 while specialised divisions of the branch organised many better training courses and attracted more and more membership attendance.
The VCCI-HCM granted 166,000 C/O sets, organised many conferences to gather opinions for the Labour Code, and represented the business community to reflect ideas of domestic and foreign-invested enterprises to the Government. The total revenues of the VCCI-HCM reached over VND12 billion (USUS$750,000), including VND5 billion profit, in the first half of the year.
