New Management Team at Amara Saigon

Amara International Hotels, Singapore have appointed Lakshman Perera as General Manager of the 300 rooms Amara Saigon. He has 20 years of experience from Shangri-la Hotels in Sydney, Manila and Shanghai. Prior to which he was with Grand Hyatt Melbourne and also worked in Boston and Toronto. He plans to upgrade and reposition the Amara Saigon to one of the top 4 stars plus property in Vietnam.

 

Peter Wong has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing. He previously worked with Millennium Copothorne Hotel in Singapore at the Grand Copothorne Hotel and prior to that in the Airline, Travel and Cruise business.

 

Amara International Hotels are re-branding the company and plans are underway to open up to 10 properties by 2010. Amara Sanctuary Sentosa opens in January 2007, Amara Signature Shanghai and Amara Beijing open in 2008. Plans are underway to manage properties in other gateway cities like Kualar Lumpur, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Bali, and Jakarta. The Amara flagship in Singapore has been operational since 1986.
